Voyager cruise of British Isles cancelled for ship repairs

Voyages of Discovery have been forced to cancel the current sailing of MV Voyager around the British Isles while workmen continue to try to recrtify the faults that brought her Celtic Treasures cruise to a premature end.

Two of the ship’s four generators suffered techical problems three days into through her 25 May cruise, resulting in the cancelltion of the ten-day cruise that was supposed to leave Portsmouth on Sunday.

All passengers booked on the 2 June cruise are to receive a full refund, or the option to receive credit towards another booking for a cruise on-board Voyager to the value of 140 per cent of their original paid fare.

Specialist engineers have been working hard to repair the affected generators, and Voyager will remain in Killybegs, County Donegal, Ireland while repairs continue.

Voyages of Discovery has apologised to all passengers “for these unusual and unforeseen circumstances which have arisen as a result of events beyond their control.
