Two more bodies found on Costa Concordia

The death toll in the Costa Concordia disaster rose to five today with the discovery of two more bodies.

Emergency teams found the bodies in the partially submerged cruise liner that sank off the Tuscan coast of Italy on Friday evening as it set off on a Mediterranean cruise to France.

It brings to five those known to have died after the ship, carrying 3,200 guests, hit rocks causdng a devastating gash which caused the 114,500-ton shiip to capsize. At least 40 are still unaccounted for.

The Italian coastguard said divers searching the vessel found the bodies of two men trapped at an assembly point.

Earlier three survivors were found when their screams for help were heard by rescuers, more than 24 hours after disaster struck.
