Titan’s 2017 World’s Best River Cruises programme with Uniworld features new ship, new itineraries

Titan, in partnership with Uniworld, is anticipating even greater demand for its French river cruises that feature in its 2017 World’s Best River Cruise programme following the sporting focus on Euro 2016 and the Tour de France.

Featured rivers include the Seine, where Uniworld’s new super-ship, the SS Joie de Vivre, will launch in March 2017 to sail the ever-popular eight-day Paris and Normandy itinerary. Travelling from Paris to the French coast at Caudebec, the voyage takes in the beautiful fishing villages of Normandy and Monet’s famous garden at Giverny.

Aptly named, the SS Joie de Vivre will reflect the French “joy of living” philosophy, and everything from the ship’s décor to the farm-to-table cuisine and on-board local wines will be designed to give guests the ultimate experience of French luxury.

With weekly departures from April to November 2017, prices start from £2,199 per person including a saving of £400 per person if booked by 31 October 2016. The cost includes flights, seven nights’ all-inclusive cruise, excursions, transfers and the VIP Home Departure Service.

Uniworld is also expanding its focus on France in 2017 with a new 10-day Paris and Impressions of the Seine itinerary, taking in the very best of French culture and culminating in a two-night stay in the French capital. Perfect for the art connoisseur or novice alike, this trip sails through the bucolic French countryside to visit the village where Vincent Van Gogh spent his final months; admiring the views over Honfleur that Eugene Boudin immortalised and strolling through Monet’s famous gardens in Giverny.

There are departures throughout 2017 from March to November, with prices from £2,599 per person including a saving of £400 per person if booked by 31 October 2016. The cost includes flights, nine nights’ all-inclusive cruise on the River Baroness.

Also new is the 10-day Rhine-Main Discovery and Munich itinerary, which delves into southern Germany along the rivers Rhine and Main, visiting important cities of the country’s culture and heritage. Two nights in the old Bavarian capital of Munich sets the tone for an itinerary that reveals imperial palaces, magnificent gardens and enchantingly crooked half-timbered homes, all the way to Cologne.

Prices start from £2,299 per person based on 3 November 2017 departure (saving up to £400 per person if booked before 31 October 2016) including scheduled direct flights, two nights in a Munich hotel on a B&B basis, seven nights’ all-inclusive cruise on the River Ambassador, eight excursions and visits, Captain’s welcome and farewell receptions and gala dinners and Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service.

For travellers looking to venture beyond Europe, the all-suite Mekong Navigator spends 17 days exploring the Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia and the Mekong. The 34 all-suite vessel, launched in 2014, is reminiscent in design of the French colonial-era manor houses that once lined the streets of Old Saigon. Travelling September to March from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, the cruise costs from £4,799 per person (saving £500 per person if booked by 31 October 2016).

Most of the 25 itineraries attract impressive savings of between £300 and £400 per person if booked before 31 October 2016. However, £500 per person is available off the 14-day India’s Golden Triangle and the Sacred Ganges cruise.

Launched earlier this year, the all-suite 56-passenger Ganges Voyager II has proved to be hugely popular. Beginning in Delhi and exploring iconic sights such as the Taj Mahal, Agra and Jaipur before embarking on a seven-night full-board Ganges, cruise prices start from £5,999 per person including scheduled flights, two nights in a New Delhi hotel, one night in an Agra hotel, two nights in a Jaipur hotel, a seven-night full-board cruise, entertainment, shore excursions, all transfers and Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service.

For those looking to plan ahead and savour that special Christmas atmosphere of a European market or escape the hurry and hassle of Christmas and New Year at home, the new programme details three Christmas tours departing in November and December 2017. Highlights include the 11–day Enchanting Christmas and New Year cruise cruise from Passau to Budapest on board the SS Maria Theresa.

The cruise costs from £4,599 per person (if booked by 31st October 2016) and is based on 21 December departure.
