Suite dreams ... MSC Divina pays ultimate tribute to screen goddess Sophia Loren
Anyone lucky enopugh to stay in suite number 16007 on MSC Cruises' new creation MSC Divina will be enjoying the personal touches of the screen goddess Sophia Loren.
For more than a decade, the Oscar-winning actress has been an important member of MSC Cruises’ family.
Unlike other companies who have a different godmother for each ship, she fulfils that role for the entire fleet, blessing each and every new ship.

The glamour and style of suite 16007 on MSC Divina
And as the state-of-the-art MSC Divina makes her maiden voyage this month, following a christening ceremony attended by Ms Loren, so the company reveals that shehas made a rather more personal contribution.
Guests staying in suite number 16007 on deck 16 can revel in the glamour and style of a suite designed for and with the help of the star herself.
Rich deep reds, specially created lamps and a wild heather and red carpet have been chosen by the Ms Loren to add a personal touch of glamour, while stunning black and white photographs of her most memorable roles decorate the walls of the suite.
A replica of the special dressing table she uses in her dressing room and green room has been fitted, with the exact light points.
Sophia Loren also selected some of her favourite novels for the MSC Yacht Club library. Chosen books include such classics as Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway and Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert.
Even the ship’s name is linked to this cinematic legend who, in 1961, became the first person to win an Oscar for a foreign-language role. Ms Loren had once disclosed to Gianluigi Aponte, the company’s owner and a close personal friend, that she would love to have a ship named after her. It was a wish he instantly fulfilled by suggesting the name Divina, meaning divine.
