P&O Cruises’  2018 summer collection: new ports, new itineraries and more school holiday cruises

P&O Cruises' 2018 holiday collection, launched earlier than ever before with its best ever incentives for customers to book, features more of its popular itineraries including the biggest selection of year-round cruises from Southampton, seven and 14-night fly-Med cruises from Malta with an optional city stay extension, cruises to the Fjords, Northern Lights, Greek Islands, Food Heroes cruises, Strictly Come Dancing themed cruises and Music Festivals at Sea.

    Arcadia will be embarking on a new 30-night cruise of Canada in 2018

    P&O Cruises senior vice president, Paul Ludlow, said: “This is the earliest we’ve ever launched our summer holiday collection. Perfect for those who like to book early, in particular families, guests can now plan their holiday up to two years in advance.” 

    2018 CRUISE SNAPSHOT

    Early booking offer
    An early booking discount is available on all P&O Cruises new summer 2018 programme cruises. Newcomers benefit from a 5% per cent discount and 5 per cent low deposit, whilst past guests (all guests who have previously travelled with P&O Cruises) will receive 10 per cent discount. This offer is available until 30 November 30, 2016, and is combinable with Select Price on new summer 2018 holidays only.

    School Holiday Cruises
    A choice of 36 family holidays during Easter, summer and May or October half-term are available across five ships with destination options including the Canary Islands, Iberia, Mediterranean (ex-UK or fly-cruise), short city breaks and the Norwegian Fjords. Itineraries vary between two and 17 nights.

    Maiden calls
    The summer 2018 programme will deliver seven new ports across five cruises. New destinations include Capri and Rapallo in Italy, Rovini in Croatia, Kristiansund in Norway and Gaspe, Sept Iles and Iles de la Madeleine in Canada.

    New Canadian cruise
    Arcadia will offer a new 30-night Canadian itinerary (J813) departing 3 September. The focus will be on lesser frequented ports such Saguenay, Sept Iles and Corner Brook, and the cruise will feature three maiden calls, two nights in New York and an overnight in Quebec.

    New discovery cruises
    P&O Cruises is introducing 15 new discovery cruises in 2018 ranging from 14 to 19 nights. Discovery cruises provide guests with the chance to explore lesser-known destinations and ports packed with local charm along with a few classic cities all in the same holiday. Available on mid-sized ships Oriana, Arcadia and Aurora and ideal for those looking to experience new places and cultures, options include:
    >> 16-night Scandinavia & Russia cruise on Aurora (R807) departing May 19 with discovery ports including Gdansk (tours from Gdynia), Visby, Klaipeda in Lithuania and Riga
    >> 14-night Mediterranean cruise on Arcadia (J809) departing July 22 with discovery ports including Elba, Toulon and Ceuta
    >> 19-night Central Mediterranean cruise on Oriana (X819) departing October 5 with discovery ports including Corigliano Calabro and Catania in Italy and Kotor

    New 12-night Norwegian Fjord cruise
    Due to popular demand, P&O Cruises has increased its longer 12-night Norway Fjords cruises in 2018. 
    >> A 12-night Fjords cruise on adult-only Arcadia (J810) departing 5 August.
    >> A 12-night Fjords cruise on family-friendly Aurora (R808) departing 4 June.

    >> Capri, Italy – calling at Capri on June 5. Available on Oriana (X808) departing May 23
    >> Rapallo, Italy - calling at Rapallo on September 28. Available on Oriana (X818) departing September 17
    >> Rovinj, Croatia – calling at Rovinj on August 22. Available on Oriana (X816) departing August 13
    >> Kristiansund, Norway – calling at Kristiansund on August 10. Available on Arcadia (J810) departing August 5
    >> Gaspe, Canada - calling at Gaspe on September 17. Available on Arcadia (J813) departing September 3
    >> Sept Iles, Canada – calling at Sept Iles on September 18. Available on Arcadia (J813) departing September 3
    >> Iles de la Madeleine, Canada - calling at Iles de la Madeleine on September 25. Available on Arcadia (J813) departing September 3

    More ex-UK cruises
    P&O Cruises continues to offer the biggest selection of year-round cruises from Southampton. Cruise to the Mediterranean, Canaries, Norwegian Fjords, Baltic, Iceland, Caribbean, North America and Canada; or, for something a little closer to home, the British Isles.

    More Med fly-cruises from Malta – with evening calls and extended land stay
    Family-friendly ship Oceana will return to Malta in summer 2018 and visit Western, Central and Eastern Mediterranean ports. Highlights include a selection of Greek islands for Eastern Mediterranean cruise itineraries including Crete, Mykonos, Rhodes and Santorini with selected cruises also featuring calls to Turkey; Marmaris and Ephesus (tours from Kusadasi).
    Evening calls are available in Dubrovnik, Ephesus (tours from Kusadasi), Mykonos, Athens (tours from Piraeus) and Venice to allow guests to experience the nightlife in a destination. One fly-Med cruise will include a call in Villefranche, France, to take in the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo.
    The seven and 14-night fly cruise itineraries feature a choice of seven UK regional airports for every cruise including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow, Newcastle and East Midlands. A £50 per person supplement applies on selected regional departures.
    Valetta, Malta will be co-hosting as the European Capital of Culture in 2018, making it an ideal time to visit this city. For those that wish to extend their holiday, additional nights in Valletta are available with P&O Cruises staying at the five-star Grand Excelsior Hotel.

    More Northern Lights
    Oriana will return to the land of the midnight sun to see the spectacular Northern Lights. Available on a 12-night Norway & Northern Lights cruise (X804) departing March 21.

    More event cruises
    For 2018, Oceana will be returning to Villefranche on 27 May with tickets available to see the Monaco Grand Prix. Available on a choice of seven and 14 night fly-Med cruises, tickets start from approximately £76 for standing places or from £200 for grandstand seats. .     More North America
    Aurora’s 24-night USA & Canada cruise (R817) departing 16 September includes big city favourites with overnight calls in New York and Quebec and an evening call in Boston.

    More Strictly Come Dancing themed cruises 
    In association with BBC Worldwide, each cruise will feature a guest judge and four of the BBC’s show’s favourite professional dancers with the opportunity to meet them and maybe learn a move or two from the experts themselves during the regular dance classes on board. There will also be Q&A sessions. Details of 2018 dates and cruises to be confirmed.

    More Food Heroes cruises
    In 2018, P&O Cruises popular Food Heroes cruises will be back on selected dates, with cooking demonstrations, masterclasses, hosted dinners, book signings and Q&A sessions. The Food Heroes will also host food and wine related shore excursions in selected ports. Details of dates and cruises to be confirmed.

    P&O Cruises works with Atul Kochhar, Michelin-starred ‘Master of Spices’; Marco Pierre White, the godfather of British cooking; James Martin, Britain’s favourite chef; Eric Lanlard, award-winning patissier; and Olly Smith, authority on all things grape-related.

    More Music Festivals at Sea Cruises
    P&O Cruises will continue to offer a selection of Music Festivals at Sea cruises, featuring some of the world’s most talented musicians and singers performing a range of recitals, opera and operetta. International opera singers and instrumentalists, renowned tenors, sopranos and violinists, string quartets and ensembles, all combine to deliver an extraordinarily musical and atmospheric holiday. 2018 Music Festivals at Sea cruises to be announced in due course.

    More evening and overnight calls
    To allow guests to stay a little longer and enjoy evening in ports, P&O Cruises is offering evening calls in 26 ports (leaving port no earlier than 9pm) and overnight in eight popular destinations including; Alta, Amsterdam, Funchal - Madeira, Hamilton - Bermuda, New York, Quebec, Reykjavik and St Petersburg.
