Michelin-star chef Paul Rankin replaces Worrall-Thompson on MSC cruise
Antony Worrall Thompson will no longer be performing a series of culinary demonstrations on board MSC Splendida next month.
MSC Cruises announced today that he is to be replaced by Michelin award winning chef Paul Rankin, pictured, for the cruise departing Barcelona on Sunday February 5.
A series of appearances at sea the following day will then see him showcase some of his best loved dishes – and a selection unique to MSC Cruises.
One of the UK’s most popular chefs, Paul Rankin won Northern Ireland’s first Michelin Star, while his trailblazing Cayenne in Belfast is among the country’s top restaurants.
He is a regular on TV shows such as Ready Steady Cook and Ten Mile Menu and the writer of numerous best-selling books.
He will be joining MSC Splendida on her round-trip 8-day, 7-night cruise departing February 4 calling at Genoa, Barcelona, Valletta, La Goulette (Tunisia), Civitavecchia (Rome), and Marseille.
Earlier this month Worrall-Thompson apologised after being caught shoplifting from Tesco, and pledged to “seek the treatment that is clearly needed” following a caution from police.
