More cruise lines join the Royal Wedding party
Four more cruise lines have joined Cunard in turning the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton into a sea-going spectacular.
The royal nuptials will be shown live across all 40 ships in the Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises fleets on April 29, 2011, while passengers on any of P&O Cruises’ seven ships won’t miss out either as the ceremony from Westminster Abbey is to be shown live on board.
Between the four cruise lines, more than 100,000 guests will be able to tune in to the celebrations.
P&O Cruises’ managing director Carol Marlow said: “As Britain’s favourite cruise line it is only fitting that our passengers should have a front row seat from unique locations around the globe. It will certainly be a grand celebration with almost 14,000 passengers sailing with us at this time.”
Dominic Paul, RCL managing director for the UK and Ireland, said: “This is the first major Royal wedding for the British people in decades, and a very good reason for a celebration on-board one of our ships.”
“As soon as we knew the date, we started working to ensure our guests can relax in comfort and style while watching one of the most globally anticipated events of 2011.”
Cunard was first to announce that it would be screening the wedding on their three Queens last week.
