Fred Olsen unveils Balmoral and Black Watch Grand Voyages for 2013

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced details of two epic voyages departing Southampton in January 2013.

The two cruises, detailed in Fred Olsen’s ‘Grand Voyages 2013’ brochure being released at the end of May, are a 112-night World Cruise on Balmoral and an 80-night Black Watch voyage to the Indian Ocean.

Balmoral’s World Cruise sets sail on January 5 and will transit both the the Suez and Panama Canals, and also cruise the Great Barrier Reef. And the many countries visited offer an astonishing wealth of different cultures and landscapes.

Key ports of call include Acapulco (Mexico), Papeete (Tahiti), Sydney and Brisbane (Australia), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Muscat (Oman), Aqaba (Jordan) and Alexandria (Egypt). In several major ports, the ship will stay overnight, to allow plenty of time for shore excursions.

Black Watch’s Indian Ocean cruise visits several diverse African countries, rounds the Cape of Good Hope, and takes in the exotic locations of Mauritius and the Maldives en route to India.

The cruise then travels to Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Egypt, with a transit of the Suez Canal, returning via Turkey, Greece, Tunisia, and Libya. Key ports of call include Banjul (The Gambia), Walvis Bay (Namibia), Cape Town (South Africa), where the ship stays for two nights, Port Louis (Mauritius), Dubai – another port with an overnight stay – Abu Dhabi, Muscat (Oman), Alexandria (Egypt), Piraeus, for Athens (Greece) and Valletta (Malta).

This itinerary is new to Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and offer some truly distinctive and fascinating ports of call.
