Cunard pushes boundaries even further for its three 2014 world cruises

Cunard has announced its 2014 voyages around the globe in which it pushes the boundaries even further, with its richest and deepestr selection of destinations to date.

There will be three World Voyages in the early months of 2014, calling at a total of 78 destinations on six continents, with durations of 116 to 119-nights and fares from £10,999 to £132,799 per person.

That means fares start at just £95 per person per day, with all meals, entertainment and travel included. The programme goes on sale 5 September 2012.

Queen Mary 2
Queen Mary’s 119-night world cruises focuses on Africa and the East

And there’s an opportunity to mix it up with one Round World Voyage aboard two different Cunard Line ships, with 9 - 14 nights stay in Australia in between the outward and homeward sailings.

Queen Mary 2
...starts her 10th anniversary season with a thrilling 119-night itinerary, focusing on Africa and the East and featuring a second chance to circle Australia, calling at eight ports en route, following the success of the ship’s 2012 circumnavigation of the continent.

Queen Elizabeth
Her 118-night Round World voyage is port-rich (40 destinations in 23 countries) and full of Eastern Promise with the ship’s first-ever visit to Japan, where she will make four maiden calls, as well as five other new ports including Shanghai, Pusan (South Korea) and Aqaba for Petra.

Queen Victoria
A 116-night voyage will sail around South America - from Brazil to Chile via Cape Horn - and along the east coast of New Zealand before returning to the UK via the Panama Canal, with no fewer than eight maiden calls including Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Easter Island and Moorea in French Polynesia.

Voyages to or from Australia and New Zealand are also available – perfect for synching up with a long stay with friends or family Down Under or a Far Eastern tour.

Half-world voyages start from £4,199 for 40-nights aboard Queen Mary 2 sailing from Southampton to Sydney, with three free nights hotel stay included (flight excluded).

Together, Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria will cover 116,808 nautical miles, taking in both signature must-see cities and less familiar places which most people would never have the opportunity to experience.

Demand for full World Voyages continues to grow despite tougher economic times and Cunard’s liners are ideally suited to such journeys, mixing legendary destinations with relaxing days at sea aboard ships noted for their serene atmosphere, outstanding dining and cutting edge presenters.

Says Cunard presidet Peter Shanks: “World Voyages continue to grow in demand with more people than ever before looking to escape the British winter, and experience all the world has to offer at outstanding value for money - from just £95 per person per day.

“Cunard’s ships receive the warmest of welcomes around the world with many arrivals attracting thousands of well-wishers, on the water and ashore – it’s part of the magic of the Cunard experience.

“There are three exceptional itineraries to choose between, featuring an especially rich mix of ports in Japan, Australia and New Zealand as well as a number of maiden calls for each of the ships, showcasing some of the best travel experiences that the world has to offer.

“For 2014, we have Queen Victoria undertaking her first ever South American voyage around Cape Horn, while Queen Mary 2, the world’s greatest Ocean Liner, celebrates her 10th anniversary with a full circumnavigation of Australia, building on the huge popularity of this circle sector with our guests this year.  And our newest ship, Queen Elizabeth, offers a fantastic voyage through the Orient, with the ship making maiden calls at four Japanese ports as well as Shanghai and Hong Kong, and transiting both the Panama and Suez canals.

“And with our new Vantage Fares, the security, spaciousness and comforts of life on board are offered with maximum value for money and flexibility, backed by our Price Promise. Plus on full Round World Voyages, there are no dining or stateroom tips to pay on board.  It’s our way of making a Cunard World Voyage even better value and the anticipation of it even more pleasurable.”

Queen Mary 2 will set out on her 119-night World Voyage on 10 January 2014, in her 10th anniversary year. Following the overwhelming success of the ship’s inaugural circumnavigation of Australia in 2012, Queen Mary 2 will undertake an almost repeat performance in 2014, with calls at eight different Australian destinations during the 33-day circumnavigation.

Fremantle (for Perth), Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane will all feature twice, making it possible to circle the continent from and back to any of these ports of call. Queen Mary 2’s World Voyage will also feature overnight calls in Dubai, Hong Kong and Cape Town.

Fares start from £11,999 for an inside room and range up to £132,799 for the Grand Duplex Suite on the full World Voyage

In 2014 Queen Elizabeth’s 118 night World Voyage will feature 40 ports in 23 countries with overnight calls in San Francisco, Sydney, Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai.

The sailing will see the ship make her debut in Japan, with maiden calls at Kochi, Yokohama, Kobe and Nagasaki, as well as Pusan, Shanghai Xiamen, Abu Dhabi and Aqaba for Petra.

Fares range from £11,899 for an inside room to £109,999 for the Grand Suite on the full World Voyage.
