Renowned conservationist to join Silversea expedition in October
image The internationally recognised scientist, conservationist and educator Dr Biruté Mary Galdikas will join Silver Discoverer’s 18 October expedition cruise as a guest lecturer. Famous for her studies and work with the orangutans of Indonesian Borneo in their natural habitat, she is considered the world’s foremost authority on the orangutan. The 11-day voyage sails from Balikpapan to Singapore, exploring the exotic islands of Indonesia en route. For each guest on Silver Discoverer, Silversea Expeditions will donate $100 to the non-profit Orangutan Foundation Internationalcharity (Orangutan.org). Full cruise details

Sail the South Seas on Europa 2 and train with a triple Olympic champion
image When Europa 2 sets sail to the South Sea islands in November this year, Olympic champion Maria Höfl-Riesch will be on board to train one-to-one with guests. Maria has developed a fitness concept exclusively for the Hapag-Lloyd ship. Top chef Michael Hoffmann is also on board this South Sea adventure, which is set to be both a sporty and culinary highlight. Cunard wins Best Large-Ship Cruise Line award

It’s a go for Grill on Seabourn Quest
image Seabourn has opened its new signature restaurant, The Grill by Thomas Keller, on Seabourn Quest, featuring a menu, wine list and ambience inspired by a classic American chophouse. The Grill, which replaces Restaurant 2 on Deck 8, is a collaboration between three-star Michelin chef Thomas Keller and designer Adam Tihany. www.seabourn.com
