Renowned conservationist to join Silversea expedition in October
image The internationally recognised scientist, conservationist and educator Dr Biruté Mary Galdikas will join Silver Discoverer’s 18 October expedition cruise as a guest lecturer. Famous for her studies and work with the orangutans of Indonesian Borneo in their natural habitat, she is considered the world’s foremost authority on the orangutan. The 11-day voyage sails from Balikpapan to Singapore, exploring the exotic islands of Indonesia en route. Sail the South Seas on Europa 2 and train with a triple Olympic champion
image When Europa 2 sets sail to the South Sea islands in November this year, Olympic champion Maria Höfl-Riesch will be on board to train one-to-one with guests. Maria has developed a fitness concept exclusively for the Hapag-Lloyd ship. Top chef Michael Hoffmann is also on board this South Sea adventure, which is set to be both a sporty and culinary highlight. Cunard wins Best Large-Ship Cruise Line award
image Cunard has been named Best Large-Ship Cruise Line at the Global Traveler Leisure Lifestyle Awards in Los Angeles. “We are honoured to receive this recognition,” said Cunard president Richard Meadows. “As we continue in 2016 with Queen Mary 2’s extensive remastering and an upcoming refit for Queen Victoria, we look forward to continuing to deliver a modern, luxurious ocean-going experience for our guests.”

It’s a go for Grill on Seabourn Quest
image Seabourn has opened its new signature restaurant, The Grill by Thomas Keller, on Seabourn Quest, featuring a menu, wine list and ambience inspired by a classic American chophouse. The Grill, which replaces Restaurant 2 on Deck 8, is a collaboration between three-star Michelin chef Thomas Keller and designer Adam Tihany.
