Ovation of the Seas sets sail with £3.2m art collection

imageRoyal Caribbean’s newest smartship, Ovation of the Seas, set sail from Southampton this week on her 52-day Global Odyssey carrying an 11,000-piece, £3.2m art collection nspired by the words of Confucius: “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” The collection was curated by London-based Peter Millard and Partners and features contemporary art from artists from around the world.
Says RCI president Michael Bayley: “Ovation of the Seas features unexpected and destination-inspired artwork, unique pieces and interactive art experiences that will surprise and delight our guests.”

Carnival joins US Wildlife Trafficking Alliance to combat illegal wildlife products

image Carnival Corporation is among the newest corporate partners of the US Wildlife Trafficking Alliance whose aim is to reduce the purchase and sale of illegal wildlife products in the United States. The cruise line will be providing awareness of wildlife crime to its 11 million cruise guests across its 10 global brands, and the development of programs to communicate with vendors and suppliers about the dangers of illegal wildlife trafficking. Norwegian Cruise Line’s Top 10 Adriatic Coast landmarks

image Norwegian Cruise Line has drawn up its list of the Top 10 landmarks to visit when sailing around the East Adriatic Coast this summer.
They are: City Walls & Forts, Dubrovnik; Acropolis (UNESCO World Heritage Centre), Athens; Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site) Corfu; Imerovigli, Santorini; Diocletian’s Palace, Split; Sea Gate, Kotor, Montenegro (UNESCO World Heritage Site); Iraklio Wine Country, Iraklion, Crete; Kourion, Limassol; Palace of Grand Master of Knights, Rhodes; St George Cathedral, Piran, Slovenia.
