Six-month reprieve for Hapag-Lloyd’s Hanseatic

image Five-star expedition ship MS Hanseatic will remain in the Hapag-Lloyd Cruises fleet for a further six months until the end of September 2018. The first of the Germany-based cruise provider’s two new expedition ships will be launching in April 2019. They are being built by the Norwegian shipyard VARD and will both accommodate up to 230 guests, and up to 199 guests on Antarctic cruises.

Second series of ‘The Cruise’ to air in January

imageThe second series of a six-part ITV documentary set onboard a Princess Cruises ship will air from 12 January, revealing what life is like for crew and guests onboard the 3,560-guest Royal Princess. The second series was filmed in the Mediterranean this summer. Hugh Bonneville, who provided the voiceover for the first series, will reprise his role for series two.

Silversea signs exclusive deal for China sales

Silversea Cruises has signed an an exclusive partnership with the Plateno Group in China allowing them to sell its cruises throughout mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. “We have long identified China as a key source market and destination for the development of the Silversea brand,” said Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, executive chairman of Silversea. “Having the right partner to provide market insight and support locally, as well as one who shares our company’s vision, will be key to our commercial success.”

Olympian Mark Foster brings fitness and well-being to P&O Cruises

image Olympian and six times world champion swimmer Mark Foster will be hosting fitness and swimming sessions on on several Britannia cruises in 2017. Children or adults can have daily swimming lessons and at the end of the holiday, after demonstrating their new-found skills, there will be a medal ceremony and special certificate signed by Mark. He said: “I’m delighted to be bringing family fitness to Britannia and showing everyone that cruising can be a healthy as well as a fun holiday choice.”

MSC’s first world cruise now on sale

.image The first, and long-awaited, round-the-world cruise by MSC Cruises is now on sale.  MSC Magnifica will embark in Genoa in January 2019 and voyagers from the UK will be able to disembark in Southampton 128 days later., 0203 095 4908

No passport to happiness on Olsen taster cruises
