Compagnie du Ponant gives Le Boreal and L’Austral an identical sister

French cruise line Compagnie du Ponant is adding an identical third 264-passenger ship to twins Le Boreal and L'Austral, increasing the fleet to six vessels in all.

News of the new yacht, to be built at the Italian Fincanteri shipyard and scheduled for launch in June 2013, was broken at this week’s International French Travel Market, Top Resa, in Paris.

As before, the innovative exterior design is entrusted to the Nantes-based design and naval architects’ studio Stirling Design International and, for the interiors, designer Jean Philippe Nuel.
