Celebrity and Azamara Cruises cancel Egypt visits
Because of the heightening tension in the Middle East, sister lines Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises have cancelled scheduled visits to Egypt by several of their ships.
Celebrity Silhouette’s August 10 cruise from Rome will will no longer call at Alexandria on August 27 but at Haifa, Israel, instead and stay overnight until 10pm on August 28. A similar change has been made to the Silhouette’s September 3 departure.
Her September 15 departure will replace the Alexandria call on September 18 with a visit to Jerusalem (Ashdod), Israel, two days earlier, while the September 27 cruise will skip Alexandria on October 3 and instead call at Limassol, Cyprus, on October 3 from 7am to 5pm and Haifa, Israel, on October 4 from 7am to 10pm.
Silhouette’s October 10 departure will now call at Haifa on October 10 and stay until 10pm the following day. The ship will also stay overnight in Jerusalem (Ashdod) from 7am on October 12 until 10pm. on October 13.
Celebrity Constellation’s October 25 departure from in Istanbul, Turkey, will sail a modified itinerary that include Ashdod and Haifa. The Constellation’s November 6 voyage from Istanbul will now instead call on
Athens (Piraeus), Greece; Marmaris, Turkey; and Rhodes, Greece.
Azamara Quest’s April 24 cruise from Dubai will bypass Alexandria on May 4 and instead spend the day at sea and call on Santorini, Greece, on May 5. The May 6 cruise from Athens will no longer stay in Alexandria overnight May 12-13 and instead will overnight in Rhodes from May 10-11, spend May 12 at sea and call on Paphos in Cyprus on May 13.
Quest’s May 16 departure from Haifa will no longer call at Alexandria May 19-20 and instead will visit Paphos on May 19 and overnight in Rhodes May 20-21.
