Azamara Club Cruises to explore further afield in 2011-12
Azamara Club Cruises' two ships Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey will visit 27 per cent more ports in 2011-2012, with 57 new ports of call, 38 overnight stays, and 63 late night stays.
The increase in the number of overnight stays offered means that one fifth of all ports of call will include at least one night in the destination.
Highlights include:
Jo Rzymowska, associate vice president and general manager UK & Ireland, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, commented: “The range of destinations, and length of stay in these prime worldwide locations, clearly demonstrates that Azamara Club Cruises is the cruise line for those who love to spend time in the destinations and immerse themselves in the local culture and festivities. The UK and Irish Market is demonstrating great affinity to the revamped boutique cruise experience and we’re looking to grow the volume of guests from this market sailing with Azamara Club Cruises throughout 2011.”
The two 694-guest ships will each focus on different regions of the world.
Cruises include overnight stays in a series of destinations to allow travellers to experience more of the location. Most ports of call also see transport from the ship to the main city or destination included in the price. Overnight stays take place in destinations such as Venice, Monte Carlo, Ashdod (for Jerusalem), Sorrento, Rhodes, Yalta in the Ukraine, St Tropez, Copenhagen, Reykjavik, Eilat in Israel, Benoa in Bali, Copacabana Beach in Brazil and three-nights in St Petersburg.
Azamara Journey, pictured, will offer cruises in the Northern and Western Mediterranean from April 2011 until September 2011 including seven-night Spain and Portugal options, 12-night Scandinavia and Russia cruises, ten and 12-night Norwegian Fjords cruises and a nine-night Arctic Circle cruise.
For winter 2011-2012 Azamara Journey will sail a ten-night transatlantic cruise departing Lisbon, Portugal on October 15 and arriving in San Juan, Puerto Rico ten days later. The ship will then offer a range of eight different Caribbean cruises ranging from five to 14-nights, two 14-night Amazon River cruises in October and November 2011, a variety of sailings in Brazil over the Christmas festive period, a nine-night Uruguay and Argentina cruise in January 2012, and a 16-night Antarctic cruise departing Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 13, 2012.
Operating mainly in the Eastern Mediterranean for the summer 2011 season, sister-ship Azamara Quest will offer a variety of ten and 11-night Holy Land sailings in May, October and November 2011, a series of seven-night Greek Islands cruises throughout the summer, nine and seven-night Black Sea cruises, the Italian and French Riviera, Croatia, Sicily and the Amalfi Coast, and a seven-night Acropolis to the Forum cruise in June 2011.
In winter 2011-2012 Azamara Quest will reposition to Egypt and the Far East featuring ten-night Red Sea cruises in November 2011 and April 2012, a 12-night Spice Route cruise in December 2011 and April 2012, a 12-night Indonesia cruise departing 23 December 2011, a longer 17-night Indonesia and the Philippines cruise in March 2012, a series of 14-night Southeast Asia cruises in January and February 2012 and 12 and 14-night Northeast Asia cruises.
