A UK first for Compagnie du Ponant and Le Diamant

French cruise line Compagnie du Ponant has announced that for the first time one of its ships is to be operating a series of voyages sailing out of the UK.

The 226-passenger expedition ship Le Diamant will be positioned in the UK during July and August 2011, operating five seven-night ex-Portsmouth round-trip voyages and two 12-night voyages.

These Le Diamant departures are:
7-night voyages : departing July 3, 10, 17 24 and August 24

They will be calling at Cobh, Ireland ; Dublin, Ireland ; Holyhead, Wales ; Waterford, Ireland ; Isles of Scilly, UK ; and St Malo, France

12-night voyages : departing July 31 and August 12, calling at :  Isles of Scilly, UK ; Foynes, Ireland ; Galway, Ireland ; Killybegs, Ireland ; Iona, Tobermory, Scotland ; Portree, Isle of Sky ; Kirkwall, Scotland ; Leith, Scotland ; Whitby, UK ; and St Malo, France.

Says Compagnie du Ponant’s UK Sales Director Claire Hancer: ‘We are delighted that Le Diamant is visiting the UK or the first time next year, giving us an ideal opportunity to showcase the ship and its facilities while at the same illustrating the individuality of our ships.”

Voyage-only fares lead in at: 7-nights Portsmouth/Portsmouth - £848 per person, plus £195pp port charges; 12-nights Portsmouth/Portsmouth - £1,455 per person, plus £335pp port charges.
