Radiance of the Seas
Major makeover puts revolutionary ship back in the front line
She helped take cruising with Royal Caribbean to a new level when she arrived in 2001, and ten years later Radiance of the Seas is doing it all over again following a major makeover.
The 90,090-ton ship was the first of Royal Caribbean’s revolutionary Radiance-class of ships, and on her arrival in March 2001, Jack Williams, the then president, said: “This class of ship represents an evolution in design and creativity which has always been a hallmark of our brand.”

Radiance of the Seas back at sea after her makeover
The 2,100-guest Radiance of the Seas has the first ultra-high-tech, self-levelling pool tables on a cruise ship boasting more glass than any other Royal Caribbean ship.
Her spectacular features include the ten-storey glass-constructed Centrum, glass lifts facing the sea, and the highest percentage of outside staterooms in the Royal Caribbean fleet.
In June 2011 she emerged from a 21-day dry-dock with almost double the number of restaurants, more accommodation and a new baby and toddler nursery.
The ship received the most highly guest-rated features introduced on Royal Caribbean International’s new Oasis-class ships.
